It was the bold investment by the University of Manchester into the MIB facilities and the recruitment of leading academics for the CoEBio3 that has helped to accelerate the exciting developments in the CoEBio3.

Pro-Bio Faraday Partnership

The establishment of CoEBio3 was possible through funding from the Pro-Bio Faraday Partnership.

Regional Development Agencies

Significant funding has been obtained from the RDA’s to develop the facilities.

DTI

The DTI commissioned the Bioscience 2015 report and the formation of CoEBio3 helps to address several issues identified such as the future importance of bioprocessing, innovative manufacture and skills/training of multidisciplinary researchers while maintaining a high level of industrial relevance. This has lead to high level support by the DTI including £3.1M to build the NIBF.

Research Councils

Ongoing research programmes are funded by the councils with £10M of research grants allocated at present to our Principal Investigators.
