Satellites

To be able to meet all the skills requirements that were identified as needed for this initiative satellite research facilities at the Universities of York together with a Scottish Consortium comprising Strathclyde and Heriot-Watt were incorporated as a vital part of the structure. These partners have been chosen to contribute complementary expertise to that at the core research laboratory with York providing general expertise in structural biology/structural genomics together with specialist knowledge of plant enzymes and the Scottish consortium contributing a range of expertise including knowledge of protein stabilization, medium engineering, immobilization and proteomic analysis of biocatalysts together with process engineering research of enzyme-based and whole-cell biotransformations.
