Facilities

The CoEBio3 state of the art facilities are designed to deliver industrial biotechnology processes to chemical manufactures for applications ranging from fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals to biopolymers and nanotechnology.

Centered on a research hub based in our Core Research Facility in the new £35M Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre (MIB) with satellite laboratories located in the Universities of York, Heriot-Watt and Strathclyde and a pilot manufacturing facility, the National Biomanufacturing Facility (NIBF) in Wilton the expertise and equipment have been assembled to deliver world-class solutions to diverse manufacturing problems.

It is from these integrated facilities that the application of isolated enzymes and whole microbial cells in biocatalytic processes will impact significantly on the economic competitiveness of a wide range of industries by enabling the application of the “white” biotech solutions required.
